Sarah Morpeth workshop...

Tomorrow I am going to a Sarah Morpeth workshop at uni. I can't wait I think her work is absolutely beautiful.

These are the books she creates cutting away pages.

I think it's amazingly beautiful how she takes something so plain like a book and makes it into a
3D piece with such unique qualities.

Will upload picture of the pieces I produce from the workshop.

All photos from Google images.

goodbye 'fragments of the attic'

Here is my bay on hand in day presented with all my hard work!!
(how clean!!)

Here are my displays of samples...
(jewellery displayed inside the vintage book with pages cut away(forgot to take photo))

And here are my final pieces all inspired by my theme 'fragments of the attic'
which included research on vintage typewriters, typewriter ribbon tins, suitcases and love letters.

Ceramic boxes, hand built with monoprinted design.
65 pounds.

Dyed fabric, printed and embellished textile piece, framed.

Cover buttons made with dyed fabric, embellishment inspired by typewriter marks and keys.

Copper brooch inspired by typewriter ribbon tins and love letters.
Etched and oxidised.

Glad to have completed my project and was lovely to see everybody elses work and final pieces
fall into place, well done ladies!!
Now looking forward to our next brief which is for our final show of second year. ooo. Exciting!
