Uni final show!
I know it's been far too long since I last posted! But I've been so busy creating products for my final show which is a huge success so far!
Want to say a MASSIVE thankyou to everybody who took part and made my 'letter around the world' project possible! It means so much and is lovely to know people all around the world took time out of their day to help me!
A special thankyou to;
Allison Tait
Bridget Holmewood
Megan Currie
Jennifer Holbrook
Isobel Davidson
Without you's this wouldn't of been possible!
The show opening night was amazing and over the past two days I have sold 3 of my products!

The show opening night was amazing and over the past two days I have sold 3 of my products!
This is my ceramic box I made using a slab building technique. The decoration is monoprints of the letter
and decals of the items people involved sent me. The handle is leather.
This box sold today at the show £100 I'm so happy!
These are my rings I made enclosing pieces of the letter.
If I remember rightly the ring on the left has a fragment of a ticket Jenny Holbrook sent me and
the middle ring is a fragment of her letter back to me!
The one on the right has a piece of the map enclosed.
Pink french ticket ring (left) = £70
Handwritten letter ring (middle) = £90
Blue map ring(etched 'found' word on the perspex-right) = £70
These silver rings have the places the letter traveled to stamped around the band and some have quote from the letter stamped.
Full band = £20
Cuff/adjustable rings= £15
2 of these rings sold today at the exhibition(:D)
Once again a huge thankyou to everyone involved!
I have loved every minute of this project and would like to keep the idea of mapping the journey of letters going so look out for new posts on new projects!

Helllooooo! Its been a while since i posted so got to apologise for that! Been busy with uni work and handing in essays etc. Two weeks off now for Easter but no rest for the wicked as I have so much work to do! I'm aware my 'letter round the world project' will (hopefully) be on it's travels but I'm wondering if anybody actually knows where it is at the moment? On the 16th of April I will be returning to uni to start making my final pieces for my degree show and would love to have the letter(s) back by then!
If anybody has any idea where they are please get in touch and even if it hasn't been round many people I will be happy to send them back out to keep the project on-going once I have used them in my degree show!
Please get in touch

Photo stenciling...
Been dying to try this photo stenciling or 'gum printing' for weeks now and finally gathered all the materials and equipment to do it. Due to some of the chemicals which are light sensitive I needed to work in a dark area, was planning on sitting in the cleaners cupboard in uni and turning all the lights off but luckily a helpful photography teacher let me use the dark rooms...yey!
Finally had a go at this technique but just on paper for now and it's looking great.
Hoping to have tested it on ceramics by the end of the week.
My plan is (if my around the world letter gets back to me) I am going to create negatives out of the map, letter and objects people have sent me and develop them onto the clay. Not sure what my final piece will be just yet but I will be showing the mapped journey in order to show connections which was my original theme.
So fingers crossed I get the letter back...
Photos of my samples will follow when they've had more time to develop in the dark room!

I'd like to thank everyone who's been involved in my project by collecting things for me!! I am now trying to narrow down and focus on specific things so I can start designing for my final products.
I'd like people to get involved in my idea of mapping a journey of a letter. I already have a letter out in Australia which is hopefully being sent around. There is instructions inside the letter for example put something you found today in this envelope or write how recieving this letter made you feel, do you feel connected to another part of the world etc. And also a map to X where you are in the world. If your interested in helping my map a journey please comment below or email me on lucyaddo@hotmail.com and I'll send one out to you. It'd be a great help because although a letter is already out there I can't rely on one letter to get back to me in time for my deadline!
THANKS ALL YOU BLOGGERS:)
